Welcome BUA Alumni!
Baptist University of America was founded in 1972 and played a major role in the lives of many believers here in the southeast and around the world. We welcome BUA Alumni to Baptist Institute of America and Seminary! What is the connection between BUA and BIA? BIA was founded by Dr. Don Richards who quickly called together several key leaders who believed that the Lord still wanted a school in the Atlanta area. Dr. Don Richards served on the BUA Board of Directors; BIA President, Tom Foskey graduated from BUA in 1980; Administrative Dean, Dr. Don Davis was the Dean of Theology at BUA; the Dean of the Seminary, Dr. Dave Stroup graduated from BUA in 1986; and BIA Professor, Dr. Randy Shaylor was the Dean of Men and a professor at BUA. Dr. Al Janney gave the BUA charter to Baptist Institute of America several years ago during the second BUA Alumni Reunion hosted by BIA at Corinth Baptist Church. BIA continues to keep the BUA charter current with the state of Georgia. It has been said that the past ties the present to the future, and so it is our desire to continue the BUA legacy through BIA! Many alumni from BUA now make the connection with BIA and help with support throughout the year. We want to encourage other alumni to get to know us and see what BIA is all about. You will recognize right away that the same school spirit you enjoyed at BUA is shared by the BIA family! We hope you will consider Graduation Week each May to be reunion time for the BUA and BIA family and join in the celebration! |
